FLASH: can't cut & paste with Flash 5 open

Has anyone else had problems cutting and pasting in other applications

when Flash 5 is open?  I like to go back and forth between Flash 5 and

WordPerfect to keep notes on what I'm doing (I know, I can see & print

all my script from F5 now, but I can print it in a much more compact

form in WP).  But whenever I have F5 open and I try to cut and paste

within WP, it won't.  As soon as I close F5, cutting & pasting works

fine again in WP.  Is this a bug, or is there a setting I've missed?
