Actually, I agree, it is a competition of sorts... The entrants are all competing to get one of the five internships, In fact it's a competition in a very similar way to how a recruitment process is a competition...

Anyway, all that is by the by.

Unless I missed the 43rd rule of gamification which states "your gamification shall not appear to be like a competition" then isn't it's similarity to a competition totally irrelevant?

It's like me asking you if something was a table and then you telling me that it was definitely a piece of furniture!

I like it, a great plug ... and then a question at the end ... no, I don't think it's gameification... because if I were to define it (I know there are loads of definitions, but this is mine):
Gameification is the incorporation of gaming ideas, principles, methods and actions into non-gaming environments and processes.

Anyway, that's just IMHO.
