We have some very interesting research into the use of people photos on our sites and some of this is covered in the slide deck I did.

We're working on a complete guide to image photography but if anyone is interested, I'll post the key highlights from our testing (30M+ tests involving images of people).

According to Google Analytics, it's driving hundreds of visits.
I guess it's an email campaign but it's not ours (we're Mailchimp). We haven't got any active co-promotions going at the moment.
There are other similarly obscure-looking links which are referring traffic (eg co108w.col108.mail.live.com), clicking on the link doesn't take me anywhere I understand.
