[uk-netmarketing] FB Likes

Thanks for all the interesting input.

I think I'm a few likes short so thanks for the offer of a couple extra.

Civil Designer: http://www.facebook.com/CivilDesigner?fref=ts

But, then again - I guess that was my point, I mean the fact that likes are
a currency that can be easily manipulated is de-motivating. Legal
counterfeit. I wouldn't be interested in using a search engine that ranked
on this criteria. Is that really what FB are working on... Thanks james for
the link, I chuckled (OL) when you said you'd liked that article.

So In conclusion FB Likes shouldn't be used by ordinary businesses unless
they are offering something in return. Otherwise go hang out in a business
guild. (as explained by Ty with the Bus co. case).

They are widely manipulated and should be restricted to apps. And perhaps
mobile will finally kill FB and then we can see if the Google+ guys do it
better.

Have a lekker wknd everyone. (Don't want to make you guys jealous (too much)
but it's 27deg here in Cape Town and the wind has stopped so it's a beach
wknd!!)

Hi,

Still 25 likes to get a URL, 30 likes for Insights and we have in the past
got branded URLs sorted without the 25 likes as we spend lots of money with
them and we're one of the original agencies to do so, so had long term
relationships even though by London standards we might be smaller.

Twitter is becoming more an issue than Facebook for us with them being
understaffed and they not responding quickly to contacts and that's what I
hear across many agencies. Even resorted to tweeting the directors at times.

Nice to see some more posts on here. We should have some more sharing...
mobile chat anyone?

Cheers

I'm pretty sure they removed the '25 likes' barrier if the purpose of this
is to try and claim a URL.

30 likes is only useful if you're wanting more info in 'insights'. Someone
please do correct me if i've missed the point here!
