The other question is, does it really matter if you have thousands of 'likes'. For years I have been asking people have you ever bought anything because of FB or Twitter or through them and the resounding answer is no. FB might be good for branding purposes - but how many people really spend time at the top shop FB page - probably just the ones that would be on anything top shop anyway. It seems to me that most people on FB are communicating with friends or Chinese or Brazilian...... New sales, doubtful. Sales to die hard fans who were already inclined to buy, possibly. IMHO, users will never view FB as a place to shop like they do ebay or Amazon and they won't view it as a place to look for things or information as they do with a traditional search engine. If you want to make money on FB, develop a useless app ;-) On 24/10/2012 11:04, Rod Harris wrote: > > Hi all. > > It seems to me that FB likes were only ever understood as genuine > endorsements for a very short while - now they are perceived with > banner blindness blinkers. > > My boss recently decided (after years of not wanting to participate > with SNs) that we should put a company FB page up.
