I agree there’s good value to be had in sharing experiences and lessons learned as MDs of our various digital businesses – a colleague of mine, Kelvin Newman, put something like this together in November, called Digital Agency Leaders, and is planning to run it again in the spring of 2014

The idea was to get twenty or so digital MDs together, organise a couple of thought provoking talks, some structured discussions, a proper lunch and plenty of time for networking all under a handshake NDA so everyone was nice and honest...

I went along and found it really useful, if you'd like I could intro him over email...

Same here, count me in. It seems we spend most of our time educating even after all these years and trying to jet wash off the spin to reveal what really is good or not , worth it or not... etc ...

Can't believe it will be 15 years come January I've been in the digital game, same as most of you I'm sure.

Thanks Kirsten - you’re absolutely right, it’s super difficult to talk to everyone so, frankly, I often thing it’s best just to please yourself! At least when you offer a service that’s as bespoke and niche as we do.





I think your idea of some kind of founders meet-up is a great idea. I gave a talk the other day on “my top 5 fuck-ups” over the last 10 years of Kempt which was really well received (I think…) and would be more than happy to repeat it Sam? Perhaps we could encourage a few other brave souls to share some wisdom/tales of woe?

I LOVE the illustrations.


It doesn't answer 'where am I and what can I do here?' on either pages one or two, but it is undeniably exciting, so I don't mind clicking on to find out more. At this point I'm not entirely sure if you're a service or a community.


Takes a short while to understand you're showing me a slideshow - ref: don't make me think


Frustrating not to be able to click on the text bottom lhs to see more.


Takes a guess to click on 'pages' to access navigation - call it menu instead? = you're stepping away from web conventions, ie bad idea, ie don't make me think


Not much branding about Kempt, kind of a suprise to see it mentioned again in the menu.


Previous work pages too dominated by style of website - implies all your projects are styled the same.





Main impressions.


You're fun and very good illustrators.


You're not entirely focussed on client briefs


It's nice and simple but at the same time you've made it a bit unnecessarily difficult and busy.





Overall


I really like it, but it would have to be a very specific project, one very similar to your design, that I would come to you for.
