[uk-netmarketing] VAT questions

I swear (positively) by Xero accounting. It really is outstanding. VAT returns, month end, invoicing etc. is a piece of cake with it.

There are two things to watch out with supply-side VAT:
- If it is EU, VAT still applies (mostly - but check)
- If the services you are applying are delivered in the UK then you still need to charge VAT even if they are accessed abroad

Also, I would look carefully at flat rate VAT too.

Spotting where customers are... tricky... making an assumption that the billing address is where they are permanently residenced: easy.

Many thanks

From 1 January 2015 these services will be taxed in the member state in which the consumer is located, ensuring these are taxed fairly and helping to protect revenue."
