You can't use users as the sole metric.


You need to look at usage per user (sticky), number of items for sale,

proportion of items sold in a specified time. (e.g. velocity of businesses)


(ebay manages 70% of items sold in 5 days).


Also, number of users per category is important. it's this that creates an

efficient market.


"registered users" doesn't tell the whole story... sorry
