Take a look at http://www.emailaddresses.com/, a directory of email

service providers.


The problem with *free* providers of a service like this is that you

never totally 'own' your subscribers. The service is funded by the

provider displaying banners on your interface. Also, they're all U.S.

based. Also, they don't offer POP features as this stops users from

seeing their ads.


I use a free service at http://www.bigmailbox.com for a couple of sites.

http://www.natalieimbruglia.com and http://www.oxfordmail.co.uk It's

cheap, cheerful and doesn't cost a penny. Oh and there is no

maintenance.


By far, the most fully featured service is http://www.chek.com, but you

pay about US$8000.00 to get your hands on it.
