Did anybody else get a mysterious package from Firebox this week?
"We're very cunning and realised that whener we sell one of these to a busy
office we invariably get an order the next day for at least a dozen more
since no one can risk being unarmed. Which is why we've sent you one
disguised as a Christmas present!"
Which it was, more or less. It was authentically hand-wrapped, with blue
wrap with a big Firebox sticker. Would've gone for Xmas wrap myself, but
there you go.
"Anyway, we've also included a few of our new catalogues for you to
liberally sprinkle around the office etc. etc."
They lost me right about here. The individual signature looks *very*
mass-produced too. Next time, I'd suggest sending it to the company
secretray, who (1) is in charge of magazine distribution/placement and (b)
is easier to manipulate.
OK, OK, OK, I'm kidding.
:o)
It was a nice surprise and it would be nice to see them benefit from what
*appears* to be an overly generous exercise. I'm so touched in fact, that
I've spread their message into this group because that's what I do.
www.firebox.com - there you go, you even got a URL in.
However, they should also be aware that the whole box is going under my desk
(nifty gun, catalogues and all) and remaining there until office/client
discussion turns to this kind of markerting exercise (so I have something
for 'show and tell') - erm, because that's what I do.

PS - The product-based trumps cards... very cool.
