This is on-topic, in a tenuous way. In the early-80s the dot.com boom/bust
cycle was anticipated, almost exactly, by the rise and fall of games
software houses. The Boo.com of their day was Imagine - the programmers
supposedly drove Ferraris, the games were dull, but nobody cared because
they were British and they were a success. This page says enough:

A BBC documentary of the collapse was made and transmitted, presumably
