The thing is, this company already HAD the contracts, we were just quoting

on THEIR specs - they said they were looking to stop designing and foist the

contracts off on another company in return for a commission. So they werent

picking our brains at all - the ideas were all theirs, we just had to match

the prices they had quoted and allow them a commission.


Still miffed abut it but a little more philosophical

Why not, this industry is powered by bullshit. At least it's an

ecologically sound fuel though. The teleworking excuse is obviously

just a way of stealing your ideas for free.


My favorite similar incident was when Syzygy (then agency of record

for a large Cola company (not Coke)) did about four months of work on

concepts / internal presentations for a new music site for said

company (for no pay) which was then put out to pitch to another four

agencies. Syzygy weren't even told about the re-pitch, let alone

asked to pitch themselves.
