Simon

The following from eglobal report :

Languages of Internet Users
Because so many internet users come from the US, Canada, and the UK,
the dominant language of internet users is English, as the following chart
shows. Currently, 57% of web users are English speakers.

Source: eMarketer, 2000
Percent of Active Adult Internet Users by
Languages Spoken, 2000
Portuguese 2%
Italian 4%
Korean 2%
Chinese 4%
French 4%
Spanish 5%
German 5%
Japanese 8%
Other 9%
English 57%

If you want the rest of this report, drop me a line off-list and I will mail
it to you - fairly up-to-date (March 2000) - and a pretty hefty PDF, and Sam
won't allow attachments :o)

Cheers
Gary
