Interesting one this.

Try finding out where, say Supergirly are performing this week
(tomorrow evening at the Two Brewers in Clapham, my
friend-with-no-taste informs me :) ).

In the deadwood versions of Time Out or Hot Tickets, this is easy.

Impossible in the free on-line versions. Why? They don't include any
of the slightly more specialist information in any depth.

The reason I buy Time Out or read Hot Tickets is for the listings. My
tastes aren't normally mainstream, so I can't get the information for
free.

thisislondon is weird, cos there is actually a lot of information
there, they just make it wading-thru-glue difficult to find (and then
get a vital piece of info, like the venue, wrong).

>I used to have an A-Z. I use www.multimap.com

And then the site goes down and you're stuck.

It's also not very useful when out and about and lost (and, no,
getting my PalmPilot, GSM adapter, and mobile phone out in the middle
of Brixton at 4 in the morning isn't an option :) ).

Newspapers are good if they're completely online. I care a tiny
amount for the front page news. The main bulk of useful information
is hiding in the odd columns here and there.

isn't this Bannerbusters? I'll get me coat ;)

Depends what you're looking for.
