Good points. You've introduced a dynamic notion of usability that allows the
move from
simple to complex - basically this is ease of learning.

This dynamic notion applies to both user and site designer.
ie. What functionality do I add to my site in the future?
Will a design decision made in the early days impact on future additions?
Will changing my site layout alienate my audience?

(For a wide angle view cf. the "learning society" politic, the emphasis
on learning in the business world and the concept of design patterns in
computational theory)
