I'm only guessing, but if there was a degree of sex
discrimination (down
Stefan!) then it could have been done reasonably accurately
by name - eg
Tim=m, Tara=f, Alex=?
If it helps the anecdotal research (which I gather JWT's
parent company WPP
is quite keen on, Tim ;-) then two people in our office were
hit, both men,
both apparently by women. (Both deleted the email, of
course.)
I thought it was a clever trick that the code should be
disguised as a .txt
even though it was not difficult to spot it for what it was.
But why, oh
why, can't some of the many millions we spend on anti-virus
software be used
for research and development aimed at spotting the potential
for email
attacks?
