Surely, the one and only fatal flaw of Boo was cost control. And the lesson
learned should be that every startup management team should include at least
one grey, preferably as financial director, with a painful habit of asking
"Why the feck do you want to spend all that much?" before s/he signs any
cheques.

Technology was of course one of the things that dragged them down. But had
the job been kept a lot simpler, and better managed, it would have worked
better. Again, this is a problem of lack of effective management. Why blame
the workers?

If I had a hundred thou' in the bank, I would have written KPMG a letter by
now offering a rescue plan. That would be 10 for the company (well that's
how much Rover was bought for), and 199,990 to get Boo on the road to
profit.

So, former Boo employees, why not put an MBO plan together?

Anyone interested, please contact me off list.
