If it's in breach of a trademark (and maybe in some other circumstances) Netnames may be able to help - see http://www.netnames.co.uk/corporate4.html - although I haven't used this service.

If it's a .com, you can easily get the e-mail address of the current owner from the "Whois" search at www.netsol.com, if you want to e-mail them to invite them to sell (but I'd suggest doing it from an relatively anonymous e-mail account, e.g. johnatsmith [dot] freeserve [dot] co [dot] uk as opposed to john [dot] smithatmegabucks [dot] com).

Depends exactly how much time or inclination you haven't got, if it's currently being used, etc.

I went through a similar process recently and found the names was registered to <someone>@domainnamebrokers.com. A quick look at www.domainnamebrokers.com showed it was for sale for $1500. Wasn't worth it.
