Or more to the point, the opportunity for instant price comparisons and
therefore choice.

Location may affect cost and therefore price and so there is no reason why
prices should not differ, so long as the retailer is aware that customers
will soon have the opportunity to compare prices from different outlets and
make a choice.

I might not choose the lowest price if I believe service is better from
another retailer, or if location reduces delivery cost, etc. The fact that I
could buy a video cheaper online from the US would not help if it could not
be supplied in a PAL version, nor if the shipping cost/delay was
unacceptable.
