Subject: UKNM: top of the web

Hi

I know that various journals report on traffic volume for UK web sites and
just wondered

(a) do you need third party validation to submit your figures - and if so
who do you use?

and

(b) is there an independent compiler of traffic volume that seeks out the
statistics rather than having them sent to them, because if there isn't the
charts we read may well be far from accurate.

Reason for asking: a client is getting around the 15mil mark monthly for
page impressions having launched just four months ago. How do I objectively
compare this to other successful launches?

How do you factor in the growing volume of traffic - I think it's a bit like
the pop charts in reverse because a lower level of record sales gets you to
number one these days than it did five years ago.

Surely it is traffic share as well as volume that matters

Ruth
