Before Asheron's Call came the better-looking EverQuest which Sony had a
hand in.
"88,387 total players online now" says the Web site at the moment -- makes
Asheron's 8,000 (is that figure right?) look a bit poor.

Even smaller point. Ultima Underworld: The Stygian Abyss was a true 3D
first-person role-playing game released in 1992 -- it didn't have a 2D
scrolling
graphics engine, it had a proper 3D one.
Ultima Online has nothing to do with Underworld, but it does have something
to
with the Ultima Series, which reached Ultima IX: Ascension late last year.
Ultima
Online 2 will not use the Ultima 8 engine, nor will it use the Ultima IX
engine,
it will have a new engine all of its own. At least that's what a spokesman
for
Origin told The Games Domain. http://www.gamesdomain.com/news/1622.html
Not sure how we get back to marketing from here, but I didn't want UKNM
readers to
get the wrong info about these all-important game engines.
