Maybe we shouldn't call them guilty ~ after all the purpose of any affiliate
solution is to enable you to track and reward partner sites for traffic they
send to your site on a performance basis, not provide SE optimisation!

Most tracking solutions such as the networks and ASP software providers,
generate an affiliate link that goes via their server rather than directly
to the merchants site (Assoctrac springs to mind as an exception). Thus no
relevance to SE rankings.

Those that will give you these added benefits will be the in-house scripts
and packages installed on your sites server but thats not to say that makes
these the right choice for program. More important is the functionality of
the software, its reporting functions to test what's working, the linking
options the software enables your affiliate partners and its ability to
communicate with your network.

Tim mentioned in his last post that he found a workaround for such a ASP
based package, and I am intrigued, I'm no search engine expert but wonder if
this was done with a image call to the site within the linking string or a
customised script....care to share Tim?
