I seem to remember another chap who, if on the receipt of x million visits
to his page, would 'get laid'

The page detailed the bet with pics of his 'sure thing'

Americans eh....

But could this desperate approach be re-purposed?
Could the promise of nookie be a motivator for new media marketers?

So there's this guy called Joe, right? He's talking to his highschool
sweetheart Chrissy about the Internet, and before too long there's a bet on.
If he can actually get more than a million hits before 14th Feb 2001, she'll
marry him.

Bless.

I've seen a lot of support for this guy over the last few days, but in the
current spirit of cynicism, I am going to dare to suggest that this is a
clever viral marketing exercise by Tripod.

;o)

Either way, you can get the full story here:
http://members.tripod.com/marry_me_chrissy/

Reasons to do this:
1. It *may* actually be true (and the city of Reno needs our support).
2. You can get Chrissy's email address from the site and send her a nice
"you're too good for him" message.
3. You can truthfully say "I was there".
