Sorry to be so boring - but all of you guys who are collecting and using
this data and carrying out surveys - are you all registered with the Data
Protection Registrar - its only about ?75 to do so and it could save you a
huge fine.

Also are you asking for the right consents to collect and use the data. If
any of it is "sensitive" i.e. relates to race, religion, sexual
orientation, political views then you need explicit consent. Otherwise you
need "informed consent".

This has probably been dealt with before on this list - but I am new here.

Any other legal questions just fire them this way - we are a firm of
specialist internet, new media and intellectual property lawyers.

all the best

Alex

Subject: UKNM: Managing a mailing list

Hi All

I'd be grateful for directions to any reading on how one managers a e-mail
list. I'm a management consultant with a list of about 500 contact names
and
I'd like to send them a personalised newsletter once per month. Thanks.

Bill
