Just been through the very same thing for Chinwag. We're currently

evaluating Adrunner from Mycomputer.com (just bought by NetObjects), which

seems to make managing the banner inventoy fairly simple. However, some

knowledge of a banner ad system is definitely a plus if you want to get up

and running really quickly.

It's pretty cheap and the people there seem to respond to requests for help

very quickly. So far the banner seem to download pretty quickly and I

haven't spotted any broken ones. If anyone has had any troubles, please let

me know.

Having tested out some of these, I reckon it's a lot easier to

outsource/ASP it. They're right buggers to set up and the loads tend to be

very peaky so require lots of performance tuning for busy sites.
