How about their main competitor Yell (the Yellow Pages web site)
Are they any better or worse than Scoot? Any experiences?

Not me, we spent over 6,000ukp for a slot in their so called Product
Finder. The salewoman gave us all the usual pitch claiming that they
were developing a new shopping section... 11 months later, we have had
bugger all from them. Absolute rubbish. Never had a single report from
them either giving us impression or click thru stats etc.
Never again.
