Subject: UKNM: Notable US site failures?
From: John Blower
Date: Tue, 12 Oct 1999 22:25:21 +0100

I'm researching an article about US companies launching sites in the UK and
being amazed that they don't work.

In particular, I remember reading somewhere (!) recently that "American
spelling is perceived by UK web users as mis-spelling rather than
Americanization" - but I'm damned if I can remember where or when.

(Perhaps I made it up...?)

Perhaps you sterling fellows can help me out with some notable examples of
sites which seemed to work in the US, but which, in the UK were abject
failures in the UK.

Many thanks.

Toodle Pip!
