Richard, the .it is oh so much better! Congratulations...


Here's why (all common sense of course):


> .it The grid format of the page is simple, tried & tested.

> .it The words are easier to read against a light background than a darker

one

> .it The most important areas of the page are highlighted with heavier

colour (the logo, the SEARCH! button and the Godado is part of the... line)

> .co.uk, there are too many dividing lines, which confuse the eye (eye

follows lines and they throw it off in dif't directions)

> .it The section headings are in standard font and size, not deviations

(see Nielsen www.useit.com)

> .uk The search button is non-standard and in 'the wrong place'

> One thing I'd try changing on the .it site is the grey bgcolor. It works

for identifying the main links section, but loses its differentiating

ability when spread over the 'search in the e-shops', info and tools

sections...

> Overall - just look at them together. Consider 'MOTIVES.' See where your

eye moves (s'what art and design are all about). Where does it want to look,

where doesn't it want to look? Do your answers to those two questions fit

the 'motives' of the site? If not why not etc.


Yes! GCSE Italian has another use! (I can also order food).
