Subject: UKNM: Privacy guidelines for kids

We have a client whose website attracts under 13s and I am trying to find out where we stand regarding things like newsletters, competitions and registration.

Does anyone happen to know if there is a UK equivalent of the US's Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, or whether there is other legislation in the UK that sets out law and best practice regarding handling data on kids online?

Any pointers would be appreciated.
