There's a name for these - affinity cards, I think. You're right, Ray - the
idea has been around for a while (was it Ford that had the first one??),
but I think there are some new twists emerging with the growth of internet
businesses.
The ad that caught my eye recently was for the new Boots card - combines a
Visa account, powered by Egg, *and* stores your Boots Advantage points as
well. First time I've seen a loyalty card and credit card combined in one
bit of plastic - bound to catch on, don't you think? Amazon cards by
Christmas?
