Using a hacked phone linked to a PC and some nice home-brew software it
is possible to trace phone movements from cell to cell. I dont know
about the 'within 100 yards' bit but it wouldnt surprise me, especially
since the time I heard about this was also several years ago.

I also remember reading something about a PIN based service in Japan
which allows the owner of a phone to dial a number, and be faxed a map
of their phone's location. Handy in the event of a theft, or if an
employee calls in sick on a work mobile with a suspicious amount of
pub-like background noise, but it made me wonder who holds the master
key! Any confirmation or refutation of this service welcome - I hate
labouring under delusions as much as the next man/woman/amoeba...

Funnily enough I dont own, and have never owned a mobile ;-)
