Woah boy! No disrespect Mike but aren't you tarring everyone here with an

opinion on this subject with the same brush as being a philosophical pratt

who claims to know everything about the dotcom world while hiding behind a

glass wall in a trendy office?


I think also if you read the thread you will find no reference to all

dot-coms being the same, nor anyone who claims to know everything about the

Internet just because they have been commercially involved with it for

years.


There is a response from Duncan that I feel sums things up.


Apart from the personal attacks on contributors there have been some very

useful and thoughtful responses, on and off list, to the initial question -

why are so many dot-coms failing.


Perhaps, Sam, we need to start ever message on the list in Support Group

style by announcing who we are, our life history, how old we are, everything

about our employers, our goatee beard count, the number of scooters in the

office, some willy waving (or equivalent) about how long we've been in the

industry etc?


[Sam says: err, we could do, but with 1,500 people on the list it could take

a while! Anyway, wouldn't you say that whilst experience is relevant, a

new-comer to the industry has an equally valid opinion, and may benefit from

not having wide industry experience i.e. fresh pair of eyes.]
