Subject: | UKNM: CocaCola red and other colours |

Coke issues printers with a tone of specifications for the production of
CocaCola red, but we discovered through work with a client that they fail to
specify the whiteness of the corrugated or board that the packs and boxes
are printed on. The underlying variations of the colour of the substrate can
materially affect the red.
For net marketers, colour is a real problem as servers and individual PCs
vary widely. I understand from another client that 'wrong' colour is a major
cause of clothing returns to online retailers. Does anyone have experience
of this?
3-M and GretagMacbeth are two companies that have some solutions to this
problem, but they have not yet been widely adopted.
