First impression - ditch the comic sans font and the bevelled buttons.
The font is really difficult to read, and looks cheap and amateur, even
if the intention was to look fun. The text on the buttons is also hard
to read, and doesn't appear to be aligned well. Put proper <TITLE> info
on your home page (make that every page, which are all 'Untitled
Document' at the moment - what I call the 'Dreamweaver disease') , and
some META tags might be good too. Employ a design agency who can make
sites without relying on dreamweaver, and know how to optimise HTML. On
the up side though, its good to see you have got your alt tags sorted.
Oh and its also good to see you're using PHP.
If a piece of text says 'click here' you should be able to click on
it...
Oh and did I say ditch comic sans?
Surely you would need a massive user base to stand any chance of users
being successful in their searches at all, even if you take into account
the 6 degrees of seperation hypothesis that everyone on the planet is
only siz aquaintances away from everyone else (i.e. I know someone who
knows someone who knows someone who knows someone who knows someone who
knows where you live ;->).
Just because Alice is looking for Bob does not mean that Bob is aware of
the site, or that Alice is looking for him. Bob's friend Claire may not
know enough about him to know about Alice, and Claire is therefore
unable to inform Bob of Alice's search even if Claire does subscribe to
the site.
It might also be an idea to include a binding privacy statement along
with the extensive terms and conditions (does point 8 sort of
acknowledge a large flaw in your proposition?).
Sorry if that was more harsh than you expected, and good luck with the
site.
