I thought I’d share this latest viral campaign from Bupa (involving Olympic
Champion Greg Rutherford) to get the nation walking. The details and viral
videos are below…



The Bupa Global Challenge 2012 ‘*Get Walking, Keep Walking*’ report shows
people are shunning walking in favour of the car.  The benefits of walking
are numerous; it can help you get fitter, helps keep your weight in check,
and reduces heart risk and the risk of type two diabetes.  It can help lift
your mood, reduce car use and instil a sense of wellness.  Also, an
additional 15 minutes of brisk walking can extend your life expectancy by
up to three years. So we wanted to come up with a way of making walking
more fun and to encourage people to re-consider the health benefits of
walking.



In the UK, we’ve come up with the Bupa Brisk Walk which burns over double
the calories used on a regular stroll and increases the heart rate, proving
that simply putting some ‘oomph’ into the way we walk can really pay off!

But we didn’t stop there. We also came up with a fun, slightly more
ridiculous walk which we hope will inspire people to think about walking
rather than jumping in the car.

Olympic champion Greg Rutherford put these walks through their paces in
London across Westminster Bridge. Take a look at the results and see how to
try the walks for yourself!
