Austin Game Developers Conference inspires game industry folks to create better games. It's a simple equation: Game developers, game publishers, filmmakers, musicians, and educational institutions amplified by the independent spirit of Austin, TX equals one truly creative hotbed.

FOSSCON (Free and Open Source Software Conference) is a community-focused live event designed to build and strengthen relationships between Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) developers and users.

BarCamp is coming back to Brighton and will again be hosted at the University of Sussex. More details, including ticketing information will follow. In the meantime please feel free to start participating in the wiki. Note: Saying you are attending on upcoming does not mean you have a place.

It's nine months days since Leeds' first BarCamp back in November...but rather than wait a whole year, we wanted to catch the Summer Sun, so come join us at Old Broadcasting House again, this time for two days of geekery and (hopefully) great weather on the 16th and 17th of August 2008!

FITC is on the move with an imaginative new event for the broadcast and film community. Pause: Ideas in motion features 12 one-hour presentations, a panel discussion, special screenings, and nightly socials as only FITC can deliver.

The Handheld Learning Conference is the international signature event for learning using mobile or ubiquitous technologies. Now in its fourth year the event has become the largest of its kind. 

I'm very pleased to announce what will be the first of many Girl Geek Dinners will be hosted in the north-east next month.  Confirmed speakers already include lydia machell; a freelance music software developer and lorna mitchell a developer, consultant and trainer for ibuildings in Leeds. 

ReMix UK 08 takes you to the frontier of today's web. With boundaries continuing to blur between developers and designers, consumers and producers, and TVs, PCs and mobile devices, ReMix UK 08 asks 'where next for the web?'

Their first conference last year attracted 800 professionals frombig brands such as BT, SKY, Virgin, Tesco and Google. The two event on the 14th of October includes 30 quality conference centres, 40 exhibitors, chill out lounge and 3 networking parties.

BlogCampSwitzerland 3.0 is a European conference focusing on blogging, organized by bloggers for bloggers. It's built upon the principles of the famous BarCamp ("ad-hoc unconference").

For those who havn't been to Geek Girl Dinner before, it's dinner, wine, talks from inspirational women, networking and discussions afterwards.  

Summer's coming up, you say? And you like Theme Parks? Big Geek Day Out are organising a day out to Alton Towers. More details about possible train deals you can use to get there once the train companies get their acts together and publish this year's deals. Tickets normally cost £25 for an adult off t'web (plus obviously your cost to get there), but I'm sure that the normal 2 for 1 deals and the like will appear as soon as summer comes along. This fun day out is open to all (not just geeks). Come one, come all - come to Alton Towers!
