Hi Sean,
You obviously haven't been to FlashCentral where I use one version of a
motion trail on the Welcome page. You can even use the alpha effect and
make it partially transparent if you are passing over other objects. The
Flasher doing the Raider's weekly Flash actually used almost the same
exact effect before me, but I didn't see it until after I created mine.
There are a lot of possible ways to create motion effects, look at a few
comic books and cartoons for ideas and inspiration.
