Hi David,

It's certainly a boost for both Flash *and* QuickTime. MM marketing people
really need to be congratulated. The level at which Flash has integrated
itself as a standard for next generation websites is incredible. I can't
think of another product that has done so well in becoming mainstream as
Flash has, next to the browsers themselves. Well, gee. I guess the
developers here can take some credit for that as well. ;)

David, I understand that both main streaming video products, RealPlayer and
QT, are continually developing, and will compete in a feature battle, but
could you briefly summarize the advantages of developing QT/Flash over
RealFlash G2, if any, as they are today or in the near future?

QT4 is not on the market yet. Is there any time estimate for QT4 to reach
a decent market share? Inquiring clients will certainly want to know. Are
there reliable figures for RealPlayer's current market share that you know
of? Could you comment on the status of any competing Microsoft product?

Also, I heard that QT4 will not stream behind some corporate firewalls. Do
you have any info on this, and if anything can/will be done about it?

Other note: The fact that you can serve these files from a regular Mac OS
X G3 server will certainly have a positive financial impact for clients,
don't you think?

TIA,

/wayne
