If we seperate our notions of Flash and the SWF file
format, we can see that it is possible.... I'm assuming
that what you're saying about SWFs is true (since I
don't know much about the file format), but even if
so, the effect is possible with shape-tweens. In
order to implement some kind of perspective tool
MM just has to add the ability to do the proper
shape tweens automatically, without the user needing
to know about it at all. In fact, when you think about
it this way, MM could actually add a full 3d
modelling environment to Flash without needing to
change a single word of the SWF format specs. The
SWF format can obviously display 3d, as we've seen it
over and over again...of course it stores it as 2d, but
the user doesn't know the difference... I'm just saying
it would be nice to have some 3d tools in Flash to
help create this illusion, and the perspective tool
would probably be the best.
