Doesn't sound mind-numbingly simple to me! But can you change the
settings on the trace bitmap low enough that you can get discrete shapes
that you can then tween? If so, it would help (I think) to put the
different parts of the faces on different layers (ctrl-c, new layer,
ctrl-shift-v to get them in the same place as the originals, for each
object to be tweened) so you can tween them individually (like a nose
layer, a face outline layer, etc). There ends my vast knowledge of
tweening. Perhaps someone will speak up about shape hints, which might
help too.
