Maybe I've just gone mad, or maybe that just doesn't make sense...and whats

OK - I do download them to my computer - I wouldn't use web-mail in this

country...costs far too much....

But wait a week? are you serious? If I leave it any more than a few days, it

takes over an hour to check it - which is �2.40 here peak rate.


I worked out, that 4 minutes per day to check my email (which so far I think

is really underestimated) would cost me �1.16 per week on a mobile phone.

And it would let me reply to ppl's emails without making them wait a week.


So far, in the tests I did yesterday - it took me 11 minutes to download 68

emails (due to the fact that my ISP is also crap, cause I can't get a paid

one, cause I don't have a credit card....arrrgghh). Also, the mobile will

only connect at 9.6k - ewwww too slow. BUT, when I connected again to try

and download the rest (it disconnected me - told you my ISP is crap) it

would connect, but just said "contacting server" - wouldn't download any

more emails. Arrrgghhh!

Supposedly you can plug your mobile into your computer and with the correct

software (which I have) it will work - yeah...seems to be much harder than

they make it sound.


I don't suppose Shaun knows anything about why this doesn't work? He seems

to be pretty into mobiles, talking about WAP and stuff...


It's all entirely my own fault, as I'm on too many discussion lists (this

list, Winamp Discussion List, Shoutcast - audio streaming for Winamp, and

Epub which is about e-zine publishing) - thats why I get so much mail.

(probly about 150 per day...darn...)


and "'ol Chap!"? - less of the old! - I'm probly the youngest person on this

list.
