Hi Thorvald. Sorry, I didn't mean to imply I was wasting my time. If I
really felt like that, I'd never read or post anything here, but in fact
I always learn something from it--even (or maybe especially?) when I'm
wrong. But mc's *do* talk to each other--that's the whole point of
having paths and nesting, etc. To retrieve something from the main
timeline while you're in a movieclip, you just address the something
with a "/" in front of it (or a "/:" if it's a variable). Maybe if you
post your code here, we could take a look at it. I'm not sure you can
load variables into a particular mc (as Jason suggested, and he may be
right), but I know you can load them to the main timeline, and I know
you can access the main timeline from *anywhere* if you use the right
path, so that solution really should work!
