I'm a database/music guy trying to grasp this flash
stuff, but here's my thoughts:
The database part is easy if you use ASP to talk to
whatever data. But, the tough part is getting flash
to recognize what's passed back.
If you can send a status back for each state:
state1 = ok or state1 = bad
for each state, then perhaps you could activat certain
graphics/symbols based on it's status. Which means
you'd have to have a regular and a black version of
each state broken out into graphics/symbols, then show
the appropriate one based on status:
if state1=ok then show state1graphic else show
state1graphicBLACK
This sounds like a lot of work though to create the
map and graphics. Is there a way with layers to mask
certain areas of a graphic based on status? So, the
map would be one graphic, but you'd shade certain
areas based on state status.
Confused? I am... :) What do the flash gurus think?
Am I on to something?
