Subject: FLASH: Reminder: Teach your old SWF new tricks!
From: John Dowdell

Last week the Shockwave Remote Control went live, and this can offer new
abilities to your current Flash design work:

-- You can enable your files to appear in the Favorites list

-- You can set your Flash so it can be viewed offline

-- Your site can be indexed in the new rich-media search engine

-- You can make it easy for people to send "Hey, check out this site!" messages

-- You can offer an easy pause/play/rewind controller for your animations

-- You can make "skins" to change the appearance of the Remote Control

You can also adjust your HTML so that your Flash work can be saved for
offline play in the new ShockMachine, a multimedia "browser" that can
catalog saveable work... sort of a virtual game cartridge machine.

How can can you get this? Visit the new http://www.shockwave.com/ , which
officially launched today. Read up on the "Shockwave Remote" from the link
at the bottom of the screen. Download the new Shockwave 7.02 and try it out
yourself.

Then go to the Developers Room and read the FAQ about the remote control:
http://www.shockwave.com/devroom/
http://www.shockwave.com/aboutus/dev_beta_remotefaq.html

Your choice... you can set these new options on the back burner if you've
got too much on your plate right now, no rush. If you do have a spare hour
or so, though, then there are new things freely available to you now... may
reward a little bit of look-see, some playtime.

(For instance, imagine sweetening the deal for a client, "Yes, if we do the
SWF interface for XYZ Widgets, then we'll also throw in a set of skins for
the remote control... imagine your customers going to the ABC Widget site,
and still seeing your logo there!" Custom skins are just one of the options
you can offer your clients now.)

Summary: New abilities available, free, easy-to-implement... see:
