I don't get it...
If you only need a coloured background, why don't you set the bgcolor in the
movie properties dialog box ? Anyway, if it could be transparent and
coloured, don't you thing that hex values will add to those of the
background and new values will occur ? If you want to have matched values
for colours of your HTML page (bgcolor) and your flash file (canvas colour)
try using a web safe palette. Mostly will do.
