fwiw, other people who are skilled in one animation tool have also had
difficulty moving to a second such tool. With time you tend to accumulate a
larger skill set than you realize. Starting over in a new environment can
be jarring.

The old saying "There's no success like failure, and no failure like
success" comes to mind here... if you're good at something, it can often be
more limiting than not having previously achieved success.

For me, one thing that helped was a period of immersion... no deadline, and
no dilletantism, just a concentrated period of trying to get something
done. This can burn in a new environment efficiently.

(btw, I think you're really underestimating the wealth of knowledge that
members of this list have put together on their various sites... it's
staggering how people enable the easier learning of others today! I'd urge
you to re-examine your early judgment "Every website I trawled this evening
tells me nothing more than the useless manual"... these contributors
document their ongoing experimentation in this new medium.)
