Very professional thinking, congratulations. As a sugestion, I remember
reading about a software, something like a "dial up simulator", that
slowed down your internal network connection, then you could try access
your own webserver at the same speed as a modem user.
Unfortunelly I don't remember any more data, and the bookmark died in my
last Windows reinstall. too bad I always forget to backup the folder
"Favorites".
