Flash 4 is not tuned for server use at all...

OK, guys, I think we're missing a vital point here. Generator is a SERVER
SIDE application, which produces static files. Flash 4 can be used to author
more intelligent
CLIENT SIDE applications, which can link to a database. This means that if
you have one big server and thousands of users all looking for different
things, a lot of the work can be done by the users' computers. With
generator on the other hand, all of the work is done by one computer,
putting a heavy load on it. So for stuff that needs database access, flash 4
wouldbe the preferred choice. However, you still need to do a lot of Perl,
PHP or ASP jiggery pokery to get the Flash 4 stuff to work, whereas
generator is a lot easier to get up & running... One advantage that
generator has is that it can create gifs and other static, non flash images.
This means that the content can be easily saved and archived, and isn't
dependant on having a plug in (a problem with F4 generating graphs and
fugures is that its output isn't easily saved if it comes from a database)
Aaaaaanyway, I hope that didn't confuse you more than you already are...
