FLASH: Guide Won't!

Hi.


I just started redesigning my flash site and have picked up version 4. I 

ran into a problem trying to add a guide layer. It is probably something 

pretty simple I am overlooking.


I have a movie clip on a lower layer that follows its own guide. 

I tried to add another symbol with a guide layer, but the pen item shows 

a circle with a crosshair and it will not write anything to the guide 

layer. I don't have the layer locked. I just can't see why it won't take 

it.


Any suggestions?
