Subject: FLASH: setting variable problem--HELP
From: Anthony Faust
Date: Thu, 3 Aug 2000 19:44:24 +0100

Hey flashers,

i got a problem and I need help.........

here's the problem......I have 26 links.....i have defined 26 variables for
these links....each has an address.....I have them in a MC with a
scrollbar.....when the user selects one....and clicks it......it will open a
new window with whatever the URL is of that link....

for example...if they click link 5....they go to abc.com....if they click
link 9, they go to espn.com....etc.....

remember this...there is only ONE button.....not 26.

I've figured out how to make each link go to its own url by defining
variables for it........now here's what i'm having trouble with...

how do I make each link go to a label in the movie while simultaneously
going to its specific URL......for example...when you click link 5, it opens
abc.com AND goes to the label "link 5" in the movie...

I tried setting a variable called "location" and making that equal to
whatever the link number is. That works for the URL part but i'm trying to
make it work for going to a specifc label in the movie....

thanks in advance,

anthony
